The HKASO has been one of the Task Force members of the "StartSmart@school.hk" Campaign of the Department of Health since the set-up of the Campaign in 2010.
The "StartSmart@school.hk" Campaign promotes the health of children aged 2 to 6 years through a school-based setting. Using effective health education resources and training targeting kindergartens and childcare centres, the campaign aims to encourage and support parents and caregivers:
to create conducive environments for healthy eating and physical activity for preschool children in the school and at home; and
to help preschool children cultivate a sustainable healthy lifestyle.
