Obesity Myths and How to Develop a Personalized Weight Loss Plan (May 14, 2026)

 

Health Talk

 

A health talk on obesity, organised in collaboration with the University Medical Service Office of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), was held on 14 May 2026. The event aimed to increase obesity awareness within the community, and aligned with World Obesity Day and supported the HKSAR Government's inaugural Action Plan on Weight Management. The government's three-year initiative, starting with the theme of "Raise Awareness" in the first year, promotes multisectoral efforts to combat obesity through health education, community programmes, and lifestyle modification. During the event, Dr Andrea Luk, president of the HKASO, shared expert insights on evidence-based strategies for weight management and practical approaches to improve metabolic health.
